OUR PROJECTS: WHAT ARE WE DOING?
The best phase of development is during the childhood, as children are the future
of the nation and backbone of economic development. As such, childhood is the father
of manhood, no one can ignore this stage. The development of a child includes good
health, good education, good family environment, proper training, balance diet and
love. But in developing countries like Nepal, children die from malnutrition and
diseases before they reach adolescence and many of them who survive lead an extremely
hard life, especially if they are orphaned at an early age. As such the social negligence
and abhorrence becomes the worst part of their life as there still exists a widespread
belief in the Nepalese society that the child who is orphaned is a parent killer
and worse still, such a child invites bad luck into the family or even to the community
so they should be abandoned or isolated. To put it in a nut shell orphans in Nepal
lack education, medical care, nutrition and a home.
Mission Himalaya is devoted to bringing a glimmer of hope to the orphans in a beautiful
but impoverished Himalayan country of Nepal. With a personal touch, we provide them
with what should be every child's birth right - education, housing, medical care,
and loving support. Empowered to reach their potentials, these children blossom,
enriching the world we all share.
